Ayushman Khurana and Parineeti Chopra’s Meri Pyaari Bindu could not impress the masses. The film garnered mixed reviews from the critics as well. The first weekend box-office of this Akshay Roy’s directorial could not rake in much moolah for the makers and it dropped further on its first Monday.
The film made Rs. 1.75 crores on Friday, Rs. 2.25 crores on Saturday and Rs. 2.50 crores on Sunday. It further raked in Rs. 85 lakhs on Monday. Hence the total first weekend collection stands at Rs. 7.35 crores at the domestic front. With this pace, it will be difficult for the makes to recover the cost involved in filmmaking.
Meri Pyaari Bindu had to face competition from Amitabh Bachchan’s Sarkar 3 that released on the same day and, also Baahubali 2 which is still performing well at the theatres. This Parineeti’s and Ayushman’s film has been appreciated for its rich music.
Directed by Akshay Roy, the film is produced by Maneesh Sharma and is presented by the Yash Raj Films Banner.
