Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan is one of the finest actors Indian film industry has. The actor is known to be too choosy about his movies and appears once in a blue moon on the silver screen. Aamir from his younger days was a prankster due to which he had fought with many of his co-actresses in his initial filmy career. Also, Aamir is considered as a loud mouth as he freely shares his views and opinions on various issues and passes cheeky comments on other actors in the media. Also, he is known to be the king of Media when it comes to promoting himself or his movies. He knows how to hype himself and keeps on performing various publicity stunts. Also he is a Social worker at heart and has lent his helping hand to many needy people. He has also supported the Narmada Bachao Andolan. He hosted the high TRP show 'Satyamev Jayate' where he discussed and found solutions for various social problems persisting in India. Aamir stopped attending any film awards after he did not receive awards for his roles which, according to him, deserved. He remained in controversy due to his various personal issues like his extramarital affairs, the case against the father for custody of his mentally unsound brother etc... But this is how the real Aamir is. He has his own ways of tackling things for which he is loved admired and adored by one and all.

Aamir Khan was born to an Indian Muslim family of Tahir and Zeenat Hussain in Bandra, Mumbai. He comes from a very affluent family. He is related to Indian Freedom fighter Abul Kalam Azad, Former President Dr. Zakir Hussain. His father was a film producer while, uncle Nasir Hussain was an actor, director and producer. Actor Faizal Khan is his sibling. Actor Imran Khan is his Nephew. Director Kiran Rao is his second wife.

Aamir was a child actor and acted in films like 'Yaadon ki Baarat' and 'Madhosh'. His adult acting debut happened in Ketan Mehta's 'Holi' at the age of 19 which went unnoticed. He caught the much needed attention of the industry through his 1988 movie 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak' along with Juhi Chawla. His chocolate hero looks worked in this romantic drama. He got a National Award in special jury award category for his critically acclaimed role in 'Raakh'. After that he gave many hits such as 'Dil', 'Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin', 'Jo Jeeta wohi Sikandar', 'Hum Hai Rahi Pyar Ke', 'Rangeela', 'Andaz Apna Apna'. He earned a Filmfare award for his role in 'Raja Hindustani'. He did his first play back singing in 'Ghulam'. After it, came 'Sarfarosh' and '1947 Earth'. Khan won his second Filmfare award for best actor for 'Lagaan'. His next movie after that 'Dil Chahta Hai' directed by Farhan Akhtar is known to be a Cult movie till date. After that khan took a four year break for stabilizing his personal life and came back with 'Mangal Pandey -The Rising'. But the movie flopped. He then appeared in 'Rang De Basanti'. The film won a BAFTA award. After it, released 'Fanaa' a commercial hit. In 2007, he tried his hands in Direction and got rewarded for 'Taare Zameen Par'. In 2008, 'Ghajini' was the highest grossing film of that year. In 2009, he appeared in Rajkumar Hirani's '3 Idiots '. The film became one among highest grossing Bollywood films of all times. The movie garnered 6 Filmfare, 10 screen and 16 IIfa awards. His 2012 movie 'Talaash' also rocked at the box office.

Amir has received Padma Shri in 2003 and Padma Bhushan in 2010 for his contribution towards Art.
