Here comes a delightful update for all the Baahubali fans. The makers of the super successful franchise who said a straight no for any more films for continuing the franchise may change their mind. Citing the humungous response Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has garnered from the viewers and frequent request to revive the franchise, the makers are on a serious consideration phase.
Baahubali: The Beginning kept the viewers curious for two years until Baahubali 2: The Conclusion paved the way. Now, the second instalment went on to become the first Indian film to gross 1000 crores at the worldwide market. Baahubali 2 Hindi version started the 400 crores club at the domestic box-office front.
This has made producer Shobu Yarlagadda, Karan Johar and director S.S. Rajamouli consider making the third instalment. S.S. Rajamouli is set to start shooting for producer D V Dannaya next and Prabhas is taking up Telugu director Sujeeth’s Saaho later this month. Johar too has other professional commitments lately. So, the third instalment, if it happens, may take a long time to manifest.
A close source said in a statement, “Rajamouli and his producer Shobu Yarlagadda are now, for the first time discussing a third feature film. Rajamouli’s father K Vijeyendra Prasad has been asked to explore the plot possibilities. Other writers may also be brought on board to put forward ideas. A think tank is being created on the lines of the slew of screenwriters who work on Hollywood franchises like Mission Impossible and King Arthur. But yes, Baahubali 3 is now officially under consideration.”
